The library of Xi'an University of Technology traces its origin to the Library of the National Beiping Senior Industrial Vocational School founded in 1949. Its predecessor was the Library of Shaanxi Institute of Machinery, established in 1972 through the merger of the libraries of Beijing Institute of Machinery and Shaanxi University of Technology. It was renamed the Library of Xi'an University of Technology in 1994.
Today, the library consists of the main building on Jinhua Campus completed in 1999 and the branch library on Qujiang Campus built in 2017, with a total construction area of 50,781 square meters. It houses 19 lending rooms, 8 study rooms, and provides 6,500 reading seats.
Adhering to the management philosophy of Reader-Centered, Service-Oriented, the library provides a wide range of multi-level services for faculty and students, including document circulation and reading, interlibrary loan, reference consultation, information literacy education, data support, document delivery, and achievement certification. The library portal features information retrieval, business processing, resource navigation and training, service guides, and online consultation. It has built an advanced Unified Resource Retrieval Platform and deployed Chinese and foreign information discovery systems. The launch of WeChat services and the Mobile Library has further enhanced its information service capabilities.
