Terahertz Science and Technology:
Focusing on the major demands of terahertz waves in applications such as security screening, imaging, and biomedicine, this research aims to address the bottlenecks in terahertz photo conductive antennas, room-temperature terahertz detectors, and terahertz time-domain spectroscopy and imaging systems. The study focuses on developing internationally leading high-power, high-power-combining-efficiency photo conductive antennas and their arrays, novel Rydberg-atom-based terahertz detectors, and terahertz time-domain spectroscopy and imaging systems tailored for diverse application scenarios. Furthermore, it investigates the key physical issues affecting device and system performance, there by providing theoretical support and reliable instrumentation for the application of terahertz technology in areas such as trace water-containing biological material detection and aging characteristic assessment of nuclear power materials.
