Vice President of Tajik Technical University Visits Xi’an University of Technology

From December 24 to 25, a delegation led by Vazirov Nazir, Vice President of Tajik Technical University, visited Xi’an University of Technology. Ma Liang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of the University, met with the delegation in the First Reception Room. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on strengthening multi-disciplinary cooperation.


Ma Liang warmly welcomed the visiting delegation and introduced the university’s development history, disciplinary layout, scientific research strength, and international cooperation initiatives. He noted that Xi’an University of Technology has long maintained strong disciplinary advantages and research achievements in engineering and technological fields such as water resources and hydropower engineering and equipment manufacturing. In recent years, the university has actively advanced high-level international engagement and maintained close and productive cooperation with universities in Central Asia. He emphasized that the visit would serve as an important opportunity to build upon previous exchanges and further promote practical cooperation in areas such as joint research platform development and collaborative talent cultivation, with the goal of accelerating the implementation of cooperative outcomes.


Vazirov Nazir expressed sincere appreciation for the university’s warm reception and briefly introduced the history, institutional scale, and current cooperation between Tajik Technical University and Chinese universities. He stated that Tajik Technical University attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with Xi’an University of Technology. Given the strong alignment between the two universities in disciplinary strengths and development priorities in fields such as civil engineering, water resources engineering, and energy engineering, he noted that there is broad potential for collaboration. He expressed his expectation that both institutions would continue to strengthen cooperation in joint talent training, faculty and student exchanges, and scientific research collaboration, thereby expanding both the depth and scope of cooperation and achieving mutually beneficial development.


To further advance concrete cooperation initiatives, the two sides held a special consultation meeting to discuss specific collaborative projects, including the establishment of joint laboratories, joint talent cultivation programs, and faculty exchange mechanisms. Detailed discussions were conducted on implementation pathways and future cooperation directions were clarified.


During the visit, the delegation from Tajik Technical University also held specialized discussions with the School of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering on potential joint research projects, exploring prospective research collaboration directions and implementation models. The delegation toured the Engineering Training Center, the School of Optoelectronic Science and Intelligent Instrumentation, and relevant laboratories of the School of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering, gaining first-hand insights into the university’s strengths in practical teaching and research platform development, thereby laying a more solid foundation for future cooperation.


Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering, the Engineering Training Center, and the School of Optoelectronic Science and Intelligent Instrumentation participated in the visit and related activities.
