

On November 21, a delegation led by Yahia Benkaouz, Senior Advisor to Morocco’s Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation and Member of the National Academy of Sciences, and Fouad Belhora, Director of the Department of Science and Industrial Technology at Chouaib Doukkali University, visited Xi’an University of Technology. Liang Shuhua, Vice President of the University, met with the delegation in the First Reception Room.
Liang Shuhua warmly welcomed the delegation and provided a comprehensive overview of the university’s development, including its institutional scale, disciplinary and program construction, and achievements in international cooperation. She noted that the university is currently in a critical stage of advancing toward its “Double First-Class” development goals and is continuously optimizing its disciplinary structure while strengthening collaborative talent cultivation mechanisms integrating industry, academia, and research. She expressed the expectation that both sides would use the China–Morocco Joint Laboratory for Green Energy and Advanced Materials as a key platform for cooperation, carrying out more practical and efficient collaborative projects. By working together with overseas enterprises and local industries to establish a complete innovation chain integrating research, technology transfer, and industrial application, she emphasized that strengthened international research cooperation would provide solid support for disciplinary development, industrial upgrading, international talent cultivation, and cross-border regional industrial development.
Yahia Benkaouz expressed sincere appreciation for the university’s warm reception and introduced the general profile of Chouaib Doukkali University. He noted that Morocco has consistently upheld an open and cooperative approach and has maintained in-depth collaboration with China across multiple fields. He stated that the visit has created a strong platform for communication between the two institutions and expressed hope that it would serve as an opportunity to further explore potential areas of cooperation and expand collaboration into broader and more advanced fields.
During the visit, the delegation toured several key research platforms, including the State Key Laboratory of Eco-Environmental Engineering in Arid Regions and the Shaanxi Engineering Research Center for Key Materials of Lithium/Sodium-Ion Batteries. The visit provided the delegation with a more direct understanding of the university’s scientific research capabilities and achievements in research platform development.
Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the Office of Science and Technology, and the School of Electrical Engineering accompanied the delegation during the visit.
