Delegation Led by Vice President of Sunway University, Malaysia Visits Our University

On March 31, a delegation led by Prof. Dr. Chai Lay Ching, Vice President of Sunway University, Malaysia, visited our university. Mr. Dong Xiaobing, Vice President of our university, met with the delegation in the First Reception Room, and the two sides exchanged views on inter-university cooperation.


Mr. Dong Xiaobing extended a warm welcome to the Sunway University delegation and introduced the university’s basic profile in terms of its school-running history, disciplinary layout, scientific research strength and international exchanges. He pointed out that the university has steadily promoted its internationalization work in recent years, and made solid achievements in expanding overseas partner institutions, facilitating international exchanges of teachers and students, and conducting joint scientific research. Faced with the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the university will further strengthen educational opening-up and elevate the level of international schooling to a new height. It is hoped that taking this visit as an opportunity, the two universities can advance in-depth cooperation.


Prof. Dr. Chai Lay Ching expressed gratitude for the warm reception and introduced the development history, school-running features and talent cultivation models of Sunway University, with particular reference to its university-enterprise cooperation. She stated that Sunway University attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Chinese universities. It hopes to deepen mutual understanding through this visit, carry out practical cooperation in relevant disciplinary fields, and promote the establishment of long-term friendly cooperative relations between the two sides.


After the meeting, the two parties held a signing ceremony and jointly signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Inter-university Exchange and Cooperation, laying a solid foundation for further deepening future cooperation.


To deepen collaboration and deliver tangible cooperation outcomes, the two sides held a special forum to conduct in-depth communication and exchange views on strengthening exchange linkage and expanding cooperation space.


During the visit, the delegation inspected various training venues and teaching modules of the Engineering Training Center, the University Student Entrepreneurship Center and student associations, gaining an intuitive understanding of the fruitful achievements in the construction and teaching reform of the Engineering Training Center.


Relevant person-in-charges and staff from the International Affairs Office, International Engineering College and Engineering Training Center accompanied the above activities.


It is reported that founded in 1986, Sunway University has developed into the largest private higher education institution in Malaysia over more than 30 years of development. It boasts strong academic strength and distinctive disciplinary advantages in engineering technology, computer science, business studies and other fields.
