Delegation Led by Vice President of Thracian University, Bulgaria Visits Our University

On March 30, a delegation led by Gabriela Kyriakova, Vice President of Thracian University, Bulgaria, paid a visit to our university. Mr. Dong Xiaobing, Vice President of the university, met with the delegation in the First Reception Room.


Mr. Dong Xiaobing extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced Xi'an University of Technology in terms of its historical evolution, disciplinary development, talent cultivation and international cooperation. He remarked that the university has continued to advance educational opening-up in recent years and actively expanded exchanges and cooperation with European universities. He expressed the hope that taking this visit as an opportunity, the two sides could further strengthen communication, deepen mutual understanding and explore possibilities for multi-level exchanges and cooperation.


Ms. Kyriakova thanked the university for the warm reception and introduced Thracian University in respect of its school-running features, disciplinary layout, school scale and international exchanges. She stated that Thracian University attaches great importance to international cooperation and exchanges, and expects to deepen mutual understanding through this visit, carry out more exchanges in relevant disciplinary fields, and advance the establishment of long-term friendly cooperative relations between the two universities.


After the meeting, the two sides held a cooperation and exchange forum, presided over by Jiang Xiaolong, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office.


Fei Rong, Deputy Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering (School of Cyberspace Security), gave an introduction to the school’s general profile, research orientations and curriculum setup. Professors Fu Bo and Liu Yanxiao respectively introduced the talent cultivation models, curriculum systems and extracurricular research practice platforms in the fields of artificial intelligence and cyberspace security. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on disciplinary development, talent training and academic communication, and exchanged views on strengthening further communication and liaison.


Thracian University is located in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, and is one of the country’s major institutions of higher education. It covers a wide range of disciplines including engineering technology, agriculture, economics, education and ecological environment. University leaders of Thracian University visited our university last November as part of the Central and Eastern European Countries University Delegation, which enabled the two sides to establish initial contacts. This visit has further deepened mutual understanding and laid a solid foundation for future exchanges and cooperation.
